By 23, I had dislocated my shoulder 13 times, I was lacking clear direction and frustrated as I searched for answers

Working in a career that I thought was for me, at one of the biggest tech companies in the world, living out my ‘dream’ yet still feeling a sense of there’s something more awaiting me

With my shoulder limiting the life I could live, I explored my options - countless surgeons saying the only option was surgery, yet my inner feelings didn’t feel right with it

At the time I was starting really enjoying running, doing hill sprints and in a running group that started in the darkest parts of the morning, I at times struggled then running hills one day, a mate ran besides me and said…

‘Try breathing through your nose’

5 words, that’s all it took to awaken a deeper exploration into my breath and how it could support both my running and eventually my ability to transform my state of being.

This sparked curiosity in two ways - why had no one had told me this and what did this actually do to help me?

Combine these moments together along with curiosity, it started to open me up to a different way, a path that spoke to me on a different level.

I connected with a coach, now one of my great mentor around a holistic approach that looked at my body in depth, along with my energy, nutrition, mind state and sleep.

Not feeling content with and within my body, feeling limited by its range of movement, to feeling stuck within the ‘prison’ of my own mind without the key to get out; little did I know these were all part of the solutions that I was looking for, not so much the problem like I perceived them to be

As I began to practice more and more a holistic way of being, things started to shift within me - first how I saw the world within myself and secondly, my perception of myself in the world.

Conversations, observations and various reflections to the different aspects of my world, I started to change things

My training shifted gears, I became more aware of my energy and what my body needed - not just pushing it every single time…

I noticed the people I surrounded myself with and asked are they exemplifying the human I want to be, or does my environment need to shift here..

Internally, the relationship to my mind and body was transforming, noticing more ease in my way of being - from the thoughts I was having to the fun I was enjoying even to how creative I was being

Never had I seen life so beautifully supportive of me

13 year old me, would almost not believe that this could be

Slowly progressing forward, I moved back towards home after living away for 7 years and a new doorway started to unfold

Growing from a marketing career to now one of being a coach and the thing I learnt in this process is how valuable experience and moment of your life can come to be, when you harness it

All of the times I managed people or dealt with difficult conversations or raced in hard moments, these all help me in coaching people

And most importantly, are reflective of how I am as a person - one who tries to soak up the present moment to influence living a life that feels more fulfilling to me

This comes through work and practice on my breath, body and mind that has built an intrinsic strength within me that feels stable, calm and intent driven

The last decade of life has brought me to relish in how much of what I look for, I see

Now cherishing the chapter of fatherhood and how the journey here has brought me to be the most present with life that I’ve ever been

All led from a renewed perspective of what lies within

An approach that I had to go through first, to experience and integrate it into my body + way of living. Intentionally moving in a direction that is about creating a life that feels aligned and connected to what makes me feel alive - that’s my guide.

I utilise this wisdom cultivated - to share, guide and coach human beings with an embodied approach to feel supported to live an aligned life that makes you feel ALIVE

Building a relationship with my inner voice
